Mankind has always developed ways to make their lives easier.

From warming their food over a campfire to inventing an oven that you can gauge its temperature. We’ve always grown to innovate and make things more efficient and effective.

The same can be said for the rise of micro-mobility. From traveling on horses, building rails for trains and the infrastructure we have today for cars and trucks. We can see the development of the industry

But the question we should be asking next is what the future of transportation looks like for most people.

The answer has always been under our nose.

The market for micro-mobility is set to grow from $160 billion to almost $360 billion dollars from 2024 to 2030. From ebike and e scooters the growth is definitely especially from the younger generation.

So moving forward this is an industry to pay to and find ways on how we can improve society problems with this new innovation of technology.

Lets go over so problems were experiencing when it comes to our modern ways of transportation.

Cheaper Transportation

Most of you that are reading I would assume have at one particular time in your life that has owned a car. If you haven't, let me tell you it's very expensive.

The average American makes from 30k to 40k a year. We all know with how inflation is going that this isn’t very much especially if you live in a big city like Los Angeles or Atlanta and maintaining a car can be a daunting task for most.

From car maintenance, insurance, gas, yearly registrations, parking and tickets. All of these can add to leaving you with not much to work with financially.

There has to be a better way we can implement new ways of traveling to offset these costs. I think we may have a good case for micro-mobility being one of these solutions.

For a lot of people having a car is still a necessity so I'm not saying to get rid of them all together. In my vision I see where both can coexist with each other in ways unimaginable.

For longer trips your car would be your best option especially if you have things to carry with you. On the other hand shorter distances fit right in for an electric scooter .Why waste gas if you're going to the store right around the corner.

The maintenance as well is not that pricey compared to a car either. You may have a few flat tires and brake pads repairs. Changing the battery is probably being the most expensive thing to change on an electric vehicle. But not like getting it registered or having a license at least for now when it comes to regulations.

I always believe in having a balanced lifestyle so find what works best for you for how you implement one of these scooters in your life.

Carbon Emissions

I've never been the one of those people to say global warming isn't real. Of course I'd like the air to be clean and well maintained.

You can use china as a good example on how not caring about emissions can hurt public health from respiratory and Cardiovascular Problems. Even leaving the public to wear masks in certain air because the air is so polluted.

So not paying attention to this issue isn’t going to make the problem go away. We have to be proactive for things like this.

We can't get rid of cars completely, they still  serve a purpose in our economy. Emissions on cars have gotten better over the few years with cars getting better gas mileage to even having hybrid to full on eclectic cars come in.

You do have other people on the other side of the argument that see electric vehicles still being hazardous from how it still takes non renewable energy to get most of their consumption.

The non renewable energy is the most dense when it comes to the energy it can produce compared to renewable energy like solar and wind.

As time progress and we find more effective ways we can start to implement better ways to deal with these problems. We should start to slowly move into this direction by having micro-mobility being the first step towards this.

Overpopulated Cities

Most of us know that feeling of being in rush hour just having to sit through traffic and watch the time fly.

I know that feeling all too well. When I commute to my job the traffic always varies because of an accident or even work being done on the road.

It's been getting worse over the past few years as more people have been flooding to come live here. Miami being the place.

I honestly don't think people actually looked into how having an overpopulated city has an effect on us. Let's look into the 2 major problems i came across

Congestion

With more people driving on the road it can cause a lot more bottlenecks and slower movement, especially during peak hours of activities.

This can create long traffic jams that extend travel times. Which we all hate right.

We all have places to go within a timely manner and the last reason we’d want to be late is because of traffic.

Longer commutes are more stressful, which can affect productivity and overall quality of life.

So finding ways to address these problems would have tremendous benefits for everyone.

Micro-mobility could have a big hand in fixing these problems in a few ways. Depending on how far you commute you could just decide to ride your e-bike on the road to avoid the congestion.

It may seem small on the surface but looking at it with a helicopter view we’d see if a lot of people can adopt this trend. Just how much for space on the road for people that actually have to go a longer distance.

Even going to your local gas station for a quick snack would make more sense if you wanted something that wasn’t too big you would have to take a car.

You don't have to make an entire 360 or pivot to this lifestyle, just find what will work for you and go for it. You may even grow to like it over time.

Increased Demand on Infrastructure

Roads, public transport, and intersections might not have been built to handle the volume of people using them.

With more vehicles than the infrastructure can handle, roads can become overcrowded, and the system becomes less efficient.

This has caused the city to make infrastructure like building new roads and expanding the highway as a priority.

You have it in a lot of cities where they are building dedicated bike lanes for the new demographic of travelers.

But with these new integration of solutions can cause a lot of safety and road hazards moving forward. So having policies and regulations that promote safe roads can save a lot of lives.

The road to fix these problems will definitely be a tough one. The upside for integrating this technology has the potential to benefit everyone if we play our cards right.

So let's not be too hasty knocking down the idea of micro-mobility. I say go to your local dealer and find a ride that would make sense to you. It doesn't have to be the most expensive to fulfill your needs just the right fit.
